Since she was a child, poetry has been Rachel Reilly’s first love. Over the years, her tastes have matured from Dr. Suess and Shel Silverstein to Anne Carson and Christina Rosetti. She has also come to love reading and writing fiction and non-fiction.
The purpose of this blog is to explore the ways literature “works” rather than to analyze what it “means”, although she helplessly slips into literary analysis from time to time. It is named after a line in her favorite poem, “The Glass Essay” by Anne Carson.
Rachel is lives in Albuquerque, NM with her Yorkie, Baby Sappho, where her time and energy are spent on writing the first great post-American novel.
